Off of I10, on my way to Pensacola, I drive by an exit for Holt, FL . Holt is my maiden name and I have always wanted to check it out and today was the best day to do just that. To be honest, it reminded me of the little towns where I came from in Ohio. Very fitting. It is an unincorporated community with a population of 2,881. You know it a small town when you spot the Dollar General . Small local restaurant . On the outskirts of town, there is a little state recreation area. It was raining so I didn't get out but it looked like a nice little place. Blackwater River State Forest and Bone Creek Recreation Area .
