"Man Should Find Nothing After Him"

I have been doing a Bible reading plan on Fear.  Monday, my husband and I were sitting on our deck on the porch swing having our coffee and chatting.  I read this verse and it just jumped out at me.


Ecclesiastes 7:14  "In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him."

I pondered this verse - it intrigued me.  

God brings about days of prosperity as well as adversity.  Days of smooth waters and days of storms.  Days of laughter and nights of tears.  

And guess who is at the end of it all?  God.  Do we have to seek for anything or anyone?  Just God.  He is the answer for the end of every question.

I find this very comforting.  For I always know where to find the answer.  
I can know in good times and bad...the answer is God.

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...
