Here is today's podcast in blog post form. :)

We have many earthquakes here in Reno, NV.  When my family was here visiting for Christmas, we had a 4.4 earthquake.  It was quite hilarious really.  My husband yells out from the bathroom – “Did you feel that???”  At the same time, both of my sisters were texting me – “Was that an earthquake?  Everything shook!!”

Well, my four daughters, niece and myself looked at each other and shrugged our shoulders.  We didn’t feel a thing!

In fact, Reno has had 133 earthquakes in the past 365 days.  And I didn’t feel one of them.

You see, these internal fault lines have always been there.  And these earthquakes have been going on all this time.  Without really no effect to most of us.

Let’s now think about the internal fault lines in our personal lives.  Maybe we don’t know they are there – nothing has ever surfaced to really even have to make us face them.  But there may be times in our life – that the big one happens.  Revealing those internal fault lines that have been there all this time.  Now…we have to face it.  Our world has been shaken.  What are we going to do about it?

We can fall into the crevice that the earthquake has created in our life and stay there.  We can let ourselves fall into depression and disillusionment and never recover.

Or we can get up, receive forgiveness and with humility, go on with the strength from the Lord.  Just because a fault line has been revealed does not mean it has to be your downfall.  It just means that now you know what you are facing – face it with wisdom and the Lord!

So today’s challenge is:  As the ground may shake in your life today, whether small or big, face each tremor with wisdom and the Lord.

Will you take the challenge?

Happy 45th Birthday, Eric!

Happy birthday to my husband, Eric!   He turns 45 today.  I am surprising him with tickets to a Miami Dolphins game in Miami.  I got him tickets one other time years ago when we lived in Reno.  We drove to Oakland to see the Dolphins play the Raiders.  I think this will be a great memory for him and a home game too! Happy birthday, babe!

Recipe: Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan This is a delicious recipe from Magnolia Table: Volume 2. 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts  1/4 tsp. kosher salt 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 2 large eggs 1 tsp. garlic salt 1 sleeve (30-40) buttery crackers, crushed 4 oz. Parmesan cheese, grated (about 1 cup) 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice 1/2 cup mayo 1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley (optional) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. (I cut the chicken breasts in half to make thinner.).  Season with salt and pepper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and garlic salt until combined.  In another bowl, combine the crackers and 1/2 cup of the Parmesan. Dredgs each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then in the cracker mixture, and set the chicken aside on a plate. In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of the oil over medium heat.  Add 2 pieces of the chicken and cook until the cracker coating is crispy and golden brown, 3 or 4 minutes on each side.  Remove to a sheet pan or b...
