DMV, Vet and More!

Wednesday was quite the busy day!

Autumn and Sierra left to go on a three day campout with the high school youth group and youth pastor of Grace Baptist Church.  They are going to Beverly Beach State Park on the Oregon coast.  I dropped them off at the church a little before 9am.

Summer had another Summer Jam activity hosted by Northwest Christian Church.  It was 9-11am at Dundee Elementary.  Games, bounce houses, crafts, etc.  Eric worked from home Wednesday so he was able to help with taking her and picking her up.

After I dropped off Sierra and Summer, I headed to the DMV.  Unfortunately, it didn't open until 10am.  So I took the car and went to the car wash.  I got it washed and then vacuumed the entire car.  This is Sonny's car that transferred to us upon his death.  We had not had the title transferred yet but the registration in Nevada was up on August 4th so I needed to get in to the DMV and get it done.

After the car wash, I got in line at the DMV.  You had to wait in the line and when you got to the check-in desk, they took your phone number.  Then you had to go back outside, wait until you got a text to come inside.  So you had to wait in line AGAIN to get to the check-in desk to get a NUMBER and then wait for your number to be called.  Holy moly!

So a lot of waiting just to get to the counter to do my transactions for them to say: here is a paper that you need to take and get notarized.

So then I picked up Eric and we went to the bank to have the paper notarized.  Then BACK to the DMV to guess....wait in line to wait in line!  LOL!  We did get it finally completed.  Oregon title in our names (even though it could take 12 weeks to actually receive it!), Oregon plates and registration for his dad's old car.  Which will now be the girls to use to go to work.  It's a 98 Subaru Legacy with 220,000 miles so it has seen its days but is still a solid car for now.  Hey, all kids need a beater to drive when they are teens. :)

This is the third and last vehicle to get registered and titled in the state of Oregon.  Good night - we are broke now!!

Then we made a stop to Staples for Eric to get a few things for his new job.  Then rushed home to get the kitty ready for his vet appt.  Nearly 45 min. to get to the vet location.  It was a long day pretty much gone the whole day from before 9am to 6:30pm.

We dropped off Eric's car to be checked out so today I will be staying home without a vehicle.  Hopefully I can catch up here with all my housework. :)

Smokey is doing a ton better already this morning by the way!  More active than I have seen him for the whole time we have had him so that is good!  It's quite the acrobatics to give him his meds and eye drops but we are working on it.  I hope it all clears up and he gets back to normal.

Happy 45th Birthday, Eric!

Happy birthday to my husband, Eric!   He turns 45 today.  I am surprising him with tickets to a Miami Dolphins game in Miami.  I got him tickets one other time years ago when we lived in Reno.  We drove to Oakland to see the Dolphins play the Raiders.  I think this will be a great memory for him and a home game too! Happy birthday, babe!

Recipe: Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan This is a delicious recipe from Magnolia Table: Volume 2. 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts  1/4 tsp. kosher salt 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 2 large eggs 1 tsp. garlic salt 1 sleeve (30-40) buttery crackers, crushed 4 oz. Parmesan cheese, grated (about 1 cup) 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice 1/2 cup mayo 1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley (optional) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. (I cut the chicken breasts in half to make thinner.).  Season with salt and pepper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and garlic salt until combined.  In another bowl, combine the crackers and 1/2 cup of the Parmesan. Dredgs each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then in the cracker mixture, and set the chicken aside on a plate. In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of the oil over medium heat.  Add 2 pieces of the chicken and cook until the cracker coating is crispy and golden brown, 3 or 4 minutes on each side.  Remove to a sheet pan or b...
