Oregon Outing: Multnomah County Library, Portland and The Stone House, Forest Park

We are feeling if winter is ever going to go!  Seeing buds on the tree so that's a good sign.

Cold walks every day. :(

Last weekend, my niece, Kylee, spent Saturday night with us and went to church with us Sunday morning.  We had Subway and lemon rice soup for lunch.  Then we went downtown Portland.

Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Special fountains Benson Bubblers designed for Portland.

The Pioneer Courthouse 1875 - a historical national landmark.

Any charm or draw that Portland may have ever had has all been ruined by the woke mob.  Stores boarded up still from 2020.  Many have their own security guards at the doors because of all the vandalism and stealing.  Homeless all over.

A Louis Vuitton store that is still boarded up and graffiti from George Floyd riot days.  The most high-end stores reduced to this.

See security outside of Tiffany's?

We thought we would visit the Multnomah County Library.  It ranks second among US libraries, based on the circulation of books and materials.  It ranks first among libraries serving fewer than one million residents.  In this respect, it is the busiest in the nation.

We felt disappointed.  As you can see in just this photo, there were homeless sitting inside.  Again, it was guarded by security.  The materials were so woke.  It smelled with the people in there.  We just wanted to leave.

This was my favorite photo of the day.  Just gave me a good feeling vibe.

We just wanted to leave downtown...it is creepy and scary.
So we thought we would go to Forest Park - one of the biggest urban parks in the US.  Nature!

We were not expecting this much snow!!

Autumn, Kylee and me

We had a little difficulty walking on the icy snow.  Ha!!

We took this hike specifically to see the Stone House.  We were sadly disappointed when we got there and found this.

How beautiful and enchanting this old stone building could be but now it is ruined.  Portland came and ruined it.  As they have seemed to do to everything.

Happy 45th Birthday, Eric!

Happy birthday to my husband, Eric!   He turns 45 today.  I am surprising him with tickets to a Miami Dolphins game in Miami.  I got him tickets one other time years ago when we lived in Reno.  We drove to Oakland to see the Dolphins play the Raiders.  I think this will be a great memory for him and a home game too! Happy birthday, babe!

Recipe: Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan This is a delicious recipe from Magnolia Table: Volume 2. 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts  1/4 tsp. kosher salt 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 2 large eggs 1 tsp. garlic salt 1 sleeve (30-40) buttery crackers, crushed 4 oz. Parmesan cheese, grated (about 1 cup) 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice 1/2 cup mayo 1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley (optional) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. (I cut the chicken breasts in half to make thinner.).  Season with salt and pepper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and garlic salt until combined.  In another bowl, combine the crackers and 1/2 cup of the Parmesan. Dredgs each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then in the cracker mixture, and set the chicken aside on a plate. In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of the oil over medium heat.  Add 2 pieces of the chicken and cook until the cracker coating is crispy and golden brown, 3 or 4 minutes on each side.  Remove to a sheet pan or b...
