Family Hike 2018-Evans Canyon/Miners Trail

This was a family hike we took...Memorial Day of 2018!  I haven't shared our adventures in several months so I'm trying to catch up.  Addie was working so she wasn't able to be with us.

This hike is locally right in Reno.  If you have ever visited our area, you will remember how we don't have the water towers in each town with the town's name like the Midwest.  We, instead, put the initials of the town on the side of the mountain.  We had never done it but we decided to do this trail and hike to the initials.  Here is the family after we reached the top!

Of course, got to bring Max!

If you look closely, you can see downtown Reno in the distance.

And here is a better view of downtown!  Pretty shot!

Panoramic shot.

Me, the hubby and Max overlooking the city.  We love this place!

The three amigos, Autumn, Sierra and Summer, with the N in the background.  We totally didn't prepare well and ran out of water way too soon.  It was very warm!

Every hike is better ended at DQ for blizzards. :)

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...
