December is here!

The Christmas season is now in full swing.  Thanksgiving is over.
Started a new audiobook series - Return to Sugarcreek by Shelley Shephard Gray.

Time for red flannel and Santa hats!
This sweet cat - he loves head pets and love.

I really like this shelf that we put up this summer.  It has been fun to decorate for each season.

It seems that this late fall has been colder than it was the first two years we were here.

If it has to be cold and dark, might as well enjoy a pretty Christmas scene and music.

Hello December!

My twins.

We were able to watch Pensacola Christian College's Christmas Lights concert.  (Where our daughter goes to college.)  It is a great show and we really enjoy it.

One last new item I got this year from Hobby Lobby is this countdown sign.  I am loving it!  First, it is large so it adds a lot to the decor.  The tree marker is magnetic so it is easy to move.  And it is simple and fits in well with my decor.
24 days until Christmas!  (Well, at the time I took this photo. :)

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...
