Savory Parmesan Loaf
Sierra made this with her supper lab and it was so good! Serve it with any grilled meat and salad for a great summer meal.
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. dried basil
1/2 tsp. dried parsley
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 loaf bakery style French bread
Adjust the oven rack to place the bread about 5 inches from the heating element; preheat oven to low broil.
In a medium mixing bowl, cream the butter at low to medium speed with an electric mixer. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, basil, and parsley. Beat until combined.
Stir in the Parmesan cheese.
Using a serrated bread knife, cut the loaf into even 1-inch slices.
Generously and evenly spread the butter mixture on one side of each slice. Place the bread on sheet pans and broil on low for approximately 3 min. Broil until golden brown and toasty. (Since bread can burn quickly, check on it often while it cooks).
*Be sure to use freshly grated Parmesan cheese! It makes all the difference in this recipe.
