Friday!

I hope your week has gone well!  Here it is already 3:30pm on Friday.  We have been enjoying quite the number of nice spring-like days recently.  Not too warm yet but more sunshine and blue skies.  So wonderful!  Our lawn was getting quite long and we went to mow it.  And we couldn't get the mower started.  We tried and tried.  We had to take it to a repair shop - there was debris in the carburator and new spark plug.  They also changed the oil and sharpened the blades.  $122.72.  We borrowed my sister's lawn mower on Wednesday to mow and our mower was done by Saturday.

On Monday, Autumn had an appointment with the dentist to have one cavity filled.  Now that that is done, she is good for six months until her next cleaning.

On Tuesday, Addie had an appointment at 8:50am at the DMV to get her Oregon driver's license.  Here in OR, they require you to take the written test in order to transfer your license.  Unfortunately, she did not pass.  Quite the bummer because we waited over two months just for that appointment.  I have gone on the DMV website and they don't have any open appointments showing.  So I have to just keep checking back in order to just get an appointment.

At 1:00pm, we had a virtual doctor appointment for Summer.  It was just an appointment so we could establish care with a new physician here in Oregon.

At 6:30pm, Sierra went to a "Night Out" for her middle school youth group.  They met at a restaurant called Shari's and had pie and fellowship.

Wednesday, I dropped off my husband's car at the repair shop.  It needed the front brakes done. $199 They were also checking on a problem with the check engine light.

I took my Volvo in to have the oil changed, cabin air filter, air filter and a couple of lights.  $189  The repair costs are adding up this week. LOL!

At 6:30pm, Summer went to Quest - a kid's club at church.

Thursday @ 3:30pm, Autumn attended her high school girls' Bible Study at the youth pastor's home.

Then Sierra and Autumn went to youth group at their cousins' church and Summer went to Awana.  They do this every Thursday night at 6:30pm.

Today is Friday - my main cleaning day.  Of course, we are still doing school every day.  I dropped off my Volvo because of an odd sound.  They checked it, found the problem and will be ordering the part to fix it next week.

Well, time to finish up school things for the week, make dinner - Chicken Stir Fry and walk Max for his evening walk.  I hope you all had a good week.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy 45th Birthday, Eric!

Happy birthday to my husband, Eric!   He turns 45 today.  I am surprising him with tickets to a Miami Dolphins game in Miami.  I got him tickets one other time years ago when we lived in Reno.  We drove to Oakland to see the Dolphins play the Raiders.  I think this will be a great memory for him and a home game too! Happy birthday, babe!

Recipe: Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan This is a delicious recipe from Magnolia Table: Volume 2. 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts  1/4 tsp. kosher salt 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 2 large eggs 1 tsp. garlic salt 1 sleeve (30-40) buttery crackers, crushed 4 oz. Parmesan cheese, grated (about 1 cup) 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice 1/2 cup mayo 1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley (optional) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. (I cut the chicken breasts in half to make thinner.).  Season with salt and pepper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and garlic salt until combined.  In another bowl, combine the crackers and 1/2 cup of the Parmesan. Dredgs each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then in the cracker mixture, and set the chicken aside on a plate. In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of the oil over medium heat.  Add 2 pieces of the chicken and cook until the cracker coating is crispy and golden brown, 3 or 4 minutes on each side.  Remove to a sheet pan or b...
