Cappie Goes to the Vet

Tuesday, October 29 Today was an overcast day much like this photo.  I honestly felt it.  I get SAD - seasonal affective disorder very easily.  It is MUCH better living in Florida!!  But this day, I couldn't shake it. School - Day 49/53. Sierra worked 11-3pm at Chick-Fil-A. I took Cappie to the vet.  His eye worried me and I wanted to get it checked out.  The prognosis was and the vet gave him an antibiotic, eye drops and pain pills.  I am praying this is the problem and his eye heals.  Would you pray that with me? For dinner, I made Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes.  Autumn called me after her classes and we talked for around an hour. Sierra and Summer had soccer practice at 7pm.

Election Day 2024

What a day!  Another presidential election for the United States of America.   My husband and I are flying back home from Nashville today from a work event.  We already cast our votes (and our two daughters did too!) early. Vote!  It is a privilege and our duty. No matter the outcome of the race today...Jesus is King.

Voted in the 2024 Presidential Election!

Monday, October 28 How is it the last week of October!  Wow! Today was Day 52 of school for Summer and Day 48 for Sierra.  Sierra will be behind Summer now since she took three days off for the College Getaway at Pensacola Christian College. I finally finished up my grades for the first nine weeks of the 2024-2025 school year.  Three more to go!  A good accomplishment to begin this week. I went grocery shopping in the morning for the week. At 12:30pm, I picked up Eric at the airport.  He flew back home from Dallas.  On our way home, we stopped by the library to early vote for this election.  So important!  Obviously, this is a very important year as we are voting on our next president.  We proudly cast our vote for Donald Trump. In Florida, we also voted on a very important issue for Christians.  Abortion laws for our state.  No matter which way our state goes, I know that I voted for my morals and Biblical values for life. We also dropped off in the ballot box our two oldest daughter

Quiet October Weekend

Saturday, October 26 In the morning, Summer had her soccer game.    In the morning, Summer had her soccer game.   I finished up this book by Jonathan Haidt.  The Anxious Generation - How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness . Buy this book.  Read it.  Apply it.  It is so good and so important! Sierra left the college and drove back home from Pensacola.  She arrived home around 4:30pm.  I am so glad she got to go to this event.  She made new connections, spent a little time with her sisters and cousin, and experienced more of Pensacola Christian College.  I am very grateful for Pensacola Christian College!  Let your teens do things like this. On their own.  It will help them to grow so much! Then they left at 5pm to go to a youth activity.  It was on a farm so everyone dressed as farmers and animals.  They had chili and grilled cheese and games.  I'm grateful for a church that truly invests in young people. My My Pillow order finally came in.  Mi

Sierra's Ear Piercing

Saturday, October 19 In the morning, the girls had a soccer game.  After the game, Summer stayed to work the concession stand. I took Sierra to the mall and surprised her by getting her ears pierced for her 17th birthday. :) Shopping at Books a Million and lunch to go at Panda Express. A new book I'm excited to read that I picked up at Books a Million.  My silly boy.

Hello November!

Hello November! November has always been an iffy month for me.  It starts to get cold and dreary.  But not here in Florida!  We are going to be in the 70's enjoying the sunshine. Of course, the highlight of November is Thanksgiving!  Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  Do you begin to plan way in advance?  I do.  Our oldest, Addie, will be spending the holiday with her boyfriend's family in North Carolina.  We will miss her but we know this is the circle of life. :) Autumn and our niece, Kylee, will be coming for the holiday.  I have a lot I want to accomplish in November so here we go!!
