September 1
Saying goodbye to August! Time to redo my calendar for the new month.
It is also Labor Day this year. We didn't go anywhere. We were just happy to stay at home with Eric off work and Summer off school.
It is hot in Florida. But this September 1st had that fall feeling in the air. It felt cooler-just different.
I went down to Hobby Lobby. Boy was it busy.
Summer made apple cider pork chops - a great meal for fall feeling. We paired it with rice pilaf and elotes.
My Nuggie girl. Just a nice, chill day.
September 2
Back to normal routine. Sierra worked 8-3pm.
School - Day 16 for Summer.
I had to drop off the Jeep at the repair shop. On Friday, coming home from the humane society, it overheated. All my coolant was gone.
Planted one new tomato plant to see what it will do in the fall.
My other tomato plants from spring planting.
My three mum plants from last fall in bloom this fall!
Windows open! I know you are probably thinking so what but it is too hot and humid to open them in the summer. :)
My Jackson. He is funny.
Wild turkey visitor in the backyard on the fence.
I had to move Summer's riding lesson to Friday since I didn't have a car. I made sausage, red potatoes and green beans in the crockpot for dinner.
Decided to try sourdough homemade brownies.
The smell and sight of Watkins vanilla brings me back to my Grandma McCurdy's house.
The finished product. They do taste a lot different than box brownies. If I make them again, I will make a couple adjustments.
September 3
It is under 70 degrees! Hooray!
There is a stray that comes around our home. He is too skittish to come up to us but we give him food and water if we see him.
Sierra worked 9-3pm today.
The Jeep is finished so I took an Uber to go pick it up. They had to replace the radiator.
School - Day 17 for Summer. She also had her piano lesson.
I spent my day preparing for my Everyday Theology class I do on Wednesday night at our church.
I made salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and pickled beets for dinner.
Sierra doing Bible study with two friends at Starbucks.
Another class done! The beautiful skies on the way home from church.
September 4
School - Day 18.
Sierra worked 4-8pm.
I made some calls and did some office work.
Summer begged to decorate the house for fall so I let her do it all. :). Here are the photos.
Nothing beats the coziness of a clean and cozy home!
I made rosemary salmon, potatoes and brussel sprouts for dinner.
Always love getting photos and updates from my college girls!
September 5
It's Friday and a beautiful day!
Enjoying my mums in full bloom.
Getting my starter fed to make a loaf of sourdough.
I had some ripe bananas and felt like trying sourdough banana bread. It actually turned out very tasty and I couldn't tell the sourdough in it!
Summer had her riding lesson. She will be getting her permit in a week so I let her drive just the little back road to the stable.
September 6
When the cats stick closer than fly paper. LOL
Working on some school things to finish up for the week.
It always helps to have a delicious loaf of homemade bread to enjoy!
My next round of vitamins arrived.
Stopped down at Hobby Lobby again. I just love some of the country art.
Well, that is the end to this first week of September! Be sure to check out my kitten posts about our foster kittens we have right now. They are so adorable and fun!
