Tips For Organizing Your Home-Part 1

On Thursdays, I will feature special guest authors.  I am very excited to share these ladies' talents and expertise with you!

Today's guest author is Mrs. Jenny Musser.  Jenny is the wife of Bro. Josh Musser and stay-at-home mom of Reagan-age 1.  They live in Reno, NV.  Beginning in February, they will oversee the music ministry at SVBC.

I asked a few young ladies, ages 8-11, at church what their favorite thing to do for fun was.  Some of their answers were playing on the Wii, watching movies and riding bikes in the summer.
If you had asked me that question when I was their age, I would have said organizing!
I would go around the house and find shoe boxes, baskets and anything I could use to organize my room with.  I love having an organized home.  It has saved me time when looking for something and money because I'm not buying multiple items of the same thing because I can't find it.

This is the time of year when we resolve to clean-out, de-clutter and re-organize and Rebekah has asked me
to share some of my favorite ways to get organized!

My first tip is for all that bakeware that falls out of your cabinet when you open the door!
I have tried organizers made especially for this, but they didn't work for me.  So, I decided to re-organize!  I love to organize with baskets and a great place to find them is Ross, Burlington and Home Goods, I'm always checking the clearance section of these stores for them.
I had some baskets that I wasn't using so I decided to try them and I was so happy with how they worked.

I don't have to take the entire stack out of the cabinet to get to the one I need to use.
Make sure you measure the inside of your cabinets before you go shopping so they fit!

Even my daughter, Reagan, has her own basket for her bakeware. :)

Stay tuned next week for another organizing tip from Jenny!

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."  Psalm 27

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour to end.  You have 45 minutes each week to impact that little life.  Make e
