Home School Valentine Party 2021 and Sledding

We had a home school Valentine party today with the cousins!  It was a lot of fun. :)

My sister decorated so pretty for the party!  We made a candy goody bag for each child.  She made delicious vanilla cupcakes for dessert.
I made a fun punch that fit well for Valentine's Day.

I made Brownie Truffles for everyone as well.  You can find the recipe here.

We also had all the items to make mini pizzas.  You can find the recipe here.
For our toppings, we had pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives, green peppers, onions, ham, pineapple and mozzarella cheese.

Everyone made homemade Valentine's cards and exchanged them after lunch.

Cousins!  Addie, Autumn, Kylee, Summer, Sierra, Jack and Evan

Max even got to come to the party!  All the running around he did - he was pretty tuckered out!

I know it looks like how they could go sledding...but we got a nice layer of ice over everything and it continued all day long so it actually made for some decent sledding.  LOL!

After sledding, the kids stayed and watched Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and then came home.  Fun day off with family!

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."  Psalm 27

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour to end.  You have 45 minutes each week to impact that little life.  Make e
