Rainy Sunday with the Classics

Sunday, December 17
Sunday was a low-key day.  Addie was very sick with a sore throat, cough, vomiting, ear ache.  I went to Target to get some meds for her.  I saw this on the way!
I stayed home from church to take care of Addie while the girls went.
We had received so much rain that the preserve behind our house filled up with water all the way to our yard line.

When the girls got home, we had salisbury steak and mashed potatoes for lunch.
Worked on a new puzzle while watching all the classics for Christmas.  Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, Frosty Returns, The Year Without a Santa Clause, and Santa Clause is Coming to Town.

Even Captain Jack watched.  Ha!

Autumn worked on gifts for the boys she nanny's.  Dinosaur chicken nugget pillows!  So cute!

We finished the night by watching the play/cantata of Valley Baptist Church in Mesa, AZ.  Josh and Rhoda's church.  Luke and Melanie played roles in the play, all the family sang and Rhoda played the piano.

I was cracking up because the material on Autumn's head reminded me of Goober in this episode of Andy Griffith!

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...
