Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville Holiday Concert

The days are going quickly towards Christmas!  I have been busy getting gifts ordered, finishing up the last of school days and grading, wrapping up a special project as a surprise, college kid coming home, husband traveling, and Christmas parties for the girls.

Saturday, December 9
Sierra had her Sunday School 11th and 12th-grade girls' Christmas party from 11:30am-3pm.
I made Joanna's sausage and kale soup.  I just love that soup!

That evening, our family went down to a church that was having a singing Christmas tree.  It was their 29th year to do it and we enjoyed it.  It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the music.

Sunday, December 10
I love looking out on a beautiful morning and a fresh new day.  It was warm - had the windows open. :)
Church.
Then smoked sausages, ranch pasta salad, and baked beans for lunch.

Church in the morning and then in the evening, we went to hear the Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville.

The Ritz Theater

My beautiful girls - Sierra-16, Summer-13, and Autumn-18.

Truly enjoy these Christmas concerts!

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...
