Simple Joys of Summer

So happy to be back home with the simple everyday joys of home.  We arrived home after driving all day Friday, July 18th.

My lemon tree.
The very next day, Saturday, July 19th, I drove to Pensacola and back to pick up Addie and Autumn and bring them home.  Their camp has finished and they will have a short break at home before the fall semester begins.

Beautiful sunsets.

My college girls home.

My sweet kitties.

My girls - camp has ended.  They are in the center of the photo. :)

Homegrown cherry tomatoes.

Homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Our Sunday was filled church, laundry and picking up our new foster kittens!  Their names are Bolby and Odey.  I put all my foster kittens separate in their own posts. :)

Monday, July 21
Monday was busy with life errands.  The chiropractor, Wal-Mart and Aldi for groceries, Dollar Tree, ATM and Speedway for gas.
Then making calls to the dentist and vet.
I also got a new case for my Mac.

I love our afternoon thunderstorms. :). So cozy!

On Tuesday, Addie had her dentist appointment at 1pm.  She did a little thrift store shopping.  I swear my girls are going through a 90's era style.  She got this frame and I swear it came from the 90's!
In the evening, Summer had her riding lesson.
We had pierogi and sausage skillet for dinner.

Autumn did my nails. :)

Wednesday, July 23
I had a wax appt.
I took down and washed all the living room and dining room curtains.
I moved all the couches and swept and mopped.
That feels so good.

It was Around the World in choir practice.  I gave the Welcome.
We had salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and veggies.

I love having my college girls home. :)

Thursday, July 24

Just enjoying my morning devotions on my front porch with my big kitties.

My husband went to Hobby Lobby to spend some time with his girls.  They are so hilarious.

Busy day!  We had to mow the lawn.
I weeded and cleaned the front porch.
Autumn had her dentist appt. at 11am.
I ironed and hung the DR and LR curtains.
I had to make a run to Wal-Mart.
I made sourdough dough.
We had corned beef and cabbage for dinner.

And lots of adorable kitten photos and videos to come!!

Happy 45th Birthday, Eric!

Happy birthday to my husband, Eric!   He turns 45 today.  I am surprising him with tickets to a Miami Dolphins game in Miami.  I got him tickets one other time years ago when we lived in Reno.  We drove to Oakland to see the Dolphins play the Raiders.  I think this will be a great memory for him and a home game too! Happy birthday, babe!

Recipe: Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan This is a delicious recipe from Magnolia Table: Volume 2. 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts  1/4 tsp. kosher salt 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 2 large eggs 1 tsp. garlic salt 1 sleeve (30-40) buttery crackers, crushed 4 oz. Parmesan cheese, grated (about 1 cup) 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice 1/2 cup mayo 1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley (optional) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. (I cut the chicken breasts in half to make thinner.).  Season with salt and pepper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and garlic salt until combined.  In another bowl, combine the crackers and 1/2 cup of the Parmesan. Dredgs each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then in the cracker mixture, and set the chicken aside on a plate. In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of the oil over medium heat.  Add 2 pieces of the chicken and cook until the cracker coating is crispy and golden brown, 3 or 4 minutes on each side.  Remove to a sheet pan or b...
