Nana's Visit: Monday, January 16

Sleepy kitties.

The five minutes in the whole day that he actually uses his dog bed!

We had a little weak January sunshine on Monday.  I saw Brownie (my feral outside cat) taking advantage of it.

With egg prices skyrocketing, I decided to try out this baking substitute.

This is the price at our Winco of eggs here in Oregon.

Silly Fig.

Addie was busy getting packed up to go back to college for the spring semester.

It always cracks me up how she swaddles Elmo.

Addie, Autumn, Kylee, and Summer took Mom to do some antique shopping.  Here are some photos of their outing. :)

When they got back, Mom had dinner at our house.  I made turkey Reubens and lemon rice soup.  Autumn had made chocolate chip cookies (an assignment for her Family and Consumer Science class).

After dinner, we had fun looking at the girls' finds at the antique shop and a scrapbook made by a teen girl in the 1940s!  The girls love vintage and historical things like this. :)  It was interesting to think of this teen girl living in Oregon while WWII was happening!

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...
