New Dresser and Chance of Tornado

Wednesday, October 11

Today is warmer and more humid.  Overcast skies.  Rain is coming in this evening.  I have enjoyed having the AC off and the windows open for the last three-four days.  So different but enjoyable!

I took some time to download photos off my phone and update several blog posts.  I do this best early morning and it was nice and quiet.  Cloudy skies, soft music, husband is gone (ha!).

I have been looking for some furniture/home items on FB Marketplace.  I found a very nice dresser for Autumn and Addie's room.  Thankfully, the seller was very responsive and I was able to go to Fruit Cove/St. John's County and pick it up in the afternoon.  Thank you, Jesus!

Jackson may become a lap cat in the winter. :)

Dinner is super simple - chicken patty sandwiches and french fries.  I then took the girls to Youth Group.  We did hit a couple Goodwill stores today as well but no luck.

Rain is coming in tonight with a chance of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes.

This is at a neighborhood close to us - wild pigs/boars!  Ugh!!

Snow at Crater Lake!  I just love the first snows of the season in the west!

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
