Cat Baths, Lawn Mowing and Horse Riding

Thursday, October 3

The little froggies around our place. :)

Thursday was a busy day! I fed my starter in the morning.  It takes 3 hours to be just right to mix up a loaf of sourdough.

I gave Nugget a bath, brush, and trim.  I clipped Nugget's and Jackson's nails and did their flea/tick treatment. We discovered Churro is the key to clipping their nails!  It distracts them.

I did all the trimming on the lawn front and back.

Bird back in the preserve behind our house.

I ran to the store for one item and stopped at Walgreens for a free 8x10 I had ordered.

Then it was time to mow the lawn which is quite the chore. I sure am getting old because boy I am sore and tired when done!

Used the blower on the sidewalks, planted my tomato plants, set out the garbage can for the morning, and fixed the fence by the preserve.

Showered and baked a couple squashes.  Then we headed to American Heritage Girls from 4:30-6pm.

Picked up two pizzas from Dominoes on the way home.  I was too wiped out to finish the squash for dinner.

Good, productive day.

Friday, October 4

Baked my bread right away in the morning. :) I did some normal cleaning - dishes, garbage, making the bed, and throwing in the laundry.

Summer's name in the church bulletin for being baptized. :)

Ran a few errands.  Visit to the chiropractor.  Doc Kelvin wasn't there - I always miss his adjustments.  Then, I did some couponing at CVS.

Then mailed a package to my parents at the post office.

Back home to work on Sierra's school items.  I started on dinner - orange chicken and eggrolls.   I love my eggrolls!  Oh by the way, make sure you check what can you pick up.  I got bamboo shoots instead of water chestnuts.  Ugh.

The girls left for their horse riding lessons.  I finished dinner and then cleaned the kitchen.  I made a pan of brownies.

Happy 45th Birthday, Eric!

Happy birthday to my husband, Eric!   He turns 45 today.  I am surprising him with tickets to a Miami Dolphins game in Miami.  I got him tickets one other time years ago when we lived in Reno.  We drove to Oakland to see the Dolphins play the Raiders.  I think this will be a great memory for him and a home game too! Happy birthday, babe!

Recipe: Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan This is a delicious recipe from Magnolia Table: Volume 2. 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts  1/4 tsp. kosher salt 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 2 large eggs 1 tsp. garlic salt 1 sleeve (30-40) buttery crackers, crushed 4 oz. Parmesan cheese, grated (about 1 cup) 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice 1/2 cup mayo 1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley (optional) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. (I cut the chicken breasts in half to make thinner.).  Season with salt and pepper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and garlic salt until combined.  In another bowl, combine the crackers and 1/2 cup of the Parmesan. Dredgs each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then in the cracker mixture, and set the chicken aside on a plate. In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of the oil over medium heat.  Add 2 pieces of the chicken and cook until the cracker coating is crispy and golden brown, 3 or 4 minutes on each side.  Remove to a sheet pan or b...
