My Week: April 16 - 22

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  I hope you enjoy reading about my week here in Reno, NV. :)

Easter...one of my favorite days of the year.  I love the pureness of this holiday - where we truly can sit back and reflect on why we have this holiday.
Sunday morning, I took time to read the accounts of the story of the resurrection...it never gets old.  It still thrills my heart.

Happy Easter - 2017!  From our family to yours. :)

We were excited to try out our new VIP tent for visitors that morning.

Gah!  I love these new shoes I got for Easter - ($10 at Payless!!)

I really like my new dress too!  $14.99 at Ross!  It has been a few years since I actually got something new (and not Goodwill - LOL!) for myself.  I'm just not a big spender on clothes and especially not for myself.

After the 10:30am service, we had an egg hunt in the park.

Aaron gave me this yummy treat. :)

Oh yes, Easter dinner.  Well, it didn't come off without zero mishaps.  In trying to be prepared (over-prepared!)...I set out my crockpots on Saturday night.  Even put a liner in it.  I have made the mistake of turning on the crockpot and not plugging it in...so I thought...I'll make sure I plug it in tonight!  Well, I did plug it in and then Sunday morning, woke up to realize it had been on high.  All. Night. Long.  Good grief!!  Well, long story short...I need to look for a new crockpot.  LOL!  My new one will definitely be another timer one.
Then my potatoes were too over done - oh boy.  They lost their yummy taste.  But what can you do?

Miss Josephine gave us this beautiful card and Starbucks card - she is so kind!

Zach and Connie stopped over and gave me these beautiful flowers - they are so sweet and they made my day!

Hawaiian pie for dessert.

Monday...off at 8am and hit the gym right after work.  Check!
Working hard at school...three days left - yay!
For dinner...we made two easy cheesy frittatas.  They were yummy. :)
Then off to a game for Autumn at Vaughn MS - then off to work for my Monday shift.

Tuesday was a super busy day!  Off at 8am.
School - just two days!
I made this so tasty chicken dish for dinner - it was a keeper. :)

Then off to swimming lessons for Autumn and Sierra at 2pm.
Then straight to Renown for a doctor visit for me at 3:45pm.  My husband tried to get there in time - got held up in traffic.  Boo.
When we got home - I made black eyed peas and collard greens to go with the chicken.
Then straight off for a game for Summer at Silver Lake at 6pm.
My boss called and asked if I would work Thursday and Friday instead of Tuesday and Wednesday - it was kind of nice having a change-up. :)

Wednesday....I could hardly hold my excitement - last day of school!  Hooray!  It took awhile to get through all the final exams - we started before 7am and it was good we did.

We were done before we had to leave for piano lessons.  I finished up all the grades and they were all ready to mail!

Wednesday evening, I took Autumn to her practice at 6pm - when she was done, we headed straight over to Hilltop to catch Addie's late game at 7:45pm
It was so cold - we got hot cocoa and coffee for everyone.  When is it going to feel like spring!?  I'm tired of winter coats, wool socks, scarves, hats and blankets!  LOL!
Since my schedule was changed, I got to stay for the game and enjoy that night at home sleeping. :)

Thursday, first day of summer vacation. :)  After chores, we went to BK for our end of the school year outing.  Then to the library to load up on books for summer reading. :)

At 2 - our last swimming lessons for this season!  I am so proud of their progress.  I'm going to miss it. :)

Summer waiting in the van for me to take her to practice - I think she is doing the He loves me-He loves me not on her flower.  LOL!

Still chilly for t-ball practice but at least mostly sunny.
Then, off to work, since my schedule is different this week.

Friday, met my husband at 1pm to get in my Friday workout.

Set up for my FPU class that evening.  My class met at 6:30pm - my husband ended the class for me because I had to leave at 7:30pm this one week since my schedule was changed.

Saturday was a little crazy.  LOL!  Off at 8am.  My husband had his Foundations Class from 9-1 so I was on my own for softball duty.
We left at 9:15am and dropped off Autumn at Pine MS for her warm-ups.
Drove to O'Brien MS and dropped off Addie for her warm-ups.
Stopped to get gas and snacks for Summer's team.
Warm-ups and game for Summer at Silver Lake Park.  That is her above.  When her game finished, we stopped at O'Brien to catch a few minutes of Addie's game - that is her below.

The game went long and I needed to get back to Autumn to make sure she was able to eat her lunch before her warm-ups for her second game.  So I asked Keren to drop Addie off at the church to ride with my husband when he finished to Autumn's second game.
Thank you, Addie, for packing us all lunches for the day!  I love having my kids older and being able to be such a help around the home.

We sat through a game waiting for Autumn's second game to begin.  That is Autumn playing shortstop.

Me wondering...when is it going to feel like summer!  That wind!  Augh!

Her game ended about 4.  Headed home to then prepare for Sunday.  My husband wanted to have over a newer family for lunch so I needed to prepare for that. :)
Laundry.
Dust.
Sweep and mop the floors.
Addie wiped down all the kitchen cabinets and appliances.
Set up the dining room table and chairs - tablecloths, place settings.
Set out all serving dishes and utensils.
Clean the bathroom.
Put the pork in the crock pot - hubby made the marinade sauce for me.
The girls helped me make the layers for the chocolate delight dessert I was making - my favorite!

Prepare my items for Sunday...Bible, tithe, announcements, fundraiser packet for camp, thank you cards to hand out, new nursery schedules to hand out, receipts to turn in.

It was a lot to get prepared but it was fun with the whole family working in the kitchen.  (We definitely need a bigger kitchen!)  LOL!

Showers and get the girls off to bed.
Sigh.  Here's to a potentially slower week.  LOL!

My Week: April 9-15

Thank you for stopping by my blog!  I hope you enjoy reading about my week here in Reno, NV.

A picture of behind the scenes.  LOL!  Sunday was a good day. :)  As always.  I very much am enjoying the sermon series of Soul Activity as my husband preaches on various emotions.  This week was on the emotion of anger.

Sunday afternoon, I worked all afternoon to catch up - mainly on going through my paperwork and getting ready for the week.  Pay a bill, check e-mail, organize all receipts for the church, update the fundraiser details.  Do some laundry.

Then back to the Sunday evening service...staff meeting and then rush off to work.

Monday morning, my husband flew out to Pensacola, FL to visit PCC.  When I got off at 8am, I went to the gym for my morning workout.  I had planned on going grocery shopping but left my shopping list in my calendar.  Ugh.
Stop at CVS for TP deal, ATM to make a deposit and then home.

Work on school - last full week of the school year...hooray!  It was a long day of school.  At 5:30 - drop off Addie at her softball practice at Mayors and take Autumn to hers at Raleigh Heights.  At 7:15pm, we rushed back home to drop them off and then off to work for my Monday shift.

Tuesday morning, off at 8am.  I stopped on the way home at Winco to get groceries (finally!).
School - the end is so close, I can almost taste it!
Laundry and ironing.
Check e-mail, send out church e-mail, announcements for Sunday.

Made a pot of vegetable beef soup for lunch/dinner.  My husband doesn't like it (it has canned green beans and peas in it - LOL!) so it was a perfect day to make it.  Plus it was overcast and chilly which makes it so good!
For dinner, I added garlic knots as a side.
Swimming lessons 2-2:45pm.
The girls came home and took their showers and then went to the church to do some work that they are earning some side money to do.  Clearing out the front fence line.

Softball practice for Summer at 6pm at Silver Lake and then off to work. :)  Brr!  It was so windy - the wind and cold temps chilled you to the bone.

Wednesday morning - off at 8am.  Usually my gym morning but I decided to burn my calories helping the girls finish up their project.  Outside work always is a great workout!

So this is what the fence line looked like before we started.  Sagebrush, long grass/weeds, trash and garbage, dead and composting leaves...it was an absolute mess.  We don't own this side of the fence but the company that does own it doesn't maintain it.  So it ends up with everything imaginable blown up against it.  We just wanted to get the front line of the fence done before Easter Sunday.

This is what it looked like after 4 1/2 hours of work and over 24 bags of debris that we bagged up and hauled away.  No pretty landscaping but it is clear and clean!

After working at the church, I ran to vacuum out the car and then get a shower in.  Then it was drop off the girls for piano lessons - 12:30-2pm.
Summer, Aaron and I went to the airport to pick up my husband.  The wait was ridiculous...about an hour after they landed - they finally got their luggage.

Beef stroganoff and corn for dinner.

Drop off Addie for Youth Group.
Summer's t-ball game was cancelled due to high winds.
Game for Autumn at O'Brien @ 6pm.  Chilly night!  Don't you love those dark, black clouds though? :)
Off to work!

Sweet gift from my secret sister. :)  Pioneer Woman! Yay!

Thursday, off at 8am. :)  Yay!!  Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, we babysat for Aaron.  It's always fun to watch him.
School.
Spent some time over at the church prepping.  Moving and setting up chairs.  Cleaning. Getting ready for Easter Sunday! Preparing for my FPU class.

After we finished up at the church, my husband and I had to run to visit the chiropractor and then a quick stop at Burlington and then back home.
As soon as I got home, it was off again to swimming lessons.  The weather was crazy!!  It was sunny, then dark, then rainy, then windy, then sunny.  LOL!

On the way, raining.

Then snowing during lessons.

Then sunny on the way home.

For dinner, I made a new recipe - Creamed Ham over cornbread.  On the side, I did a sweet potato and spinach combo.  I really liked the creamed ham - it was pretty easy and it was a tasty dish.

We barely had time to finish dinner up and then off to praise and worship practice @ 6pm.
Dropped off Addie and Melissa at 6:45pm for their warm-ups.  Back to the church to finish practice.
Men's Bible Study at 7pm.
Then off to Addie's game at Mayors at 7:45pm.

It was crazy snowing.  Like big, fat, wet flakes coming down.  It was so insane!  Good game and definitely a memory!
Got home about 9:30pm to warm up and dry out!
Finish cleaning up and then off to bed.

Friday morning!  Early start on school.  One of my favorite times...finishing up all the tests and quizzes books!  Hooray!  Three days left next week.

While the girls did school, I HAD to get some errands done.  My first stop was the gym for my Friday workout.  Then Jersey Mike's for my free birthday sub and drink...oh.my.goodness!  It was soooooooooo good!  It may be a new favorite place.
I went to Payless to get new Easter shoes for all the ladies in the house.
Ross to try on some Easter dresses for me.
Winco for some food items for Saturday and Sunday.
Stop at the salon to get my eyebrows waxed.
Then back to the church after Keren cleaned to set up Kid City for my FPU class that evening.

For dinner, I made a new recipe - Mediterranean tuna wraps/sandwiches.  Yummy for people that don't like sweet relish.  It uses mayo, black olives, green onions and roasted red peppers instead.

We added ranch pasta salad on the side and a boiled egg.

After an early dinner, it was off to my first Financial Peace University class which will be held for nine weeks on Fridays at 6:30pm.

While I had my class, my husband and the other girls went to a revival at Granite Hills Baptist.  Then it was back to home to finish up dishes, laundry and housework.

Saturday morning...Opening Day for our softball league!  This is a super busy day for our family.  We had to arrive at 9:30am - ceremonies began at 10am.

Our oldest, Addie, is 13 and she is in the 14U team.  She is playing for Lightning.

Summer is our youngest and is in her last year of t-ball.  She is six years and is playing on Shake and Bake for the second year. :)

Autumn is our second oldest, 11 years and she is playing on the Punishers for the 12U team.

We love this league and the friends we have made the past four years.  It has a family feel.

This is Autumn pitching.

Addie and Melissa playing.

It was a full day of games - 11:15am, 12:55pm, and 3:15pm.  Warm-ups in between.
While they warmed up, I did a run to Wal-Mart for my last minute Easter shopping.  Back just in time for the game.  Between the last two games, we ran to the chiropractor and Ross for my Easter dress. :)

After we got home about 6pm from the day, we had pizza for dinner and then I worked on prep for Sunday.
Made mashed potatoes for Sunday dinner.  Dishes.  Laundry.  Iron Easter clothes.  Lay out all items for Sunday.  Showers for the girls.  Stuff the eggs and make their baskets for our family Easter.  Set the table for the morning.  Busy day!!

I hope you had a wonderful week too!
