My Week

Monday was a short work week - yay!  We did our school week Monday - Wednesday at the church.  We did not have Aaron and Reagan this week due to the holidays and their families being out of town/off work.  It was nice to have a week just our four girls. :)

Monday started out beautiful - nearing 60 degrees!  We even were able to open the door for a little while to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.

I got the Abeka school DVD's ready to mail off at the UPS store.  Finished the first set of DVD's - always a good feeling!

Also completed the second grading periods for Summer and Sierra and mailed those off to Abeka Academy.  Another accomplishment!

It was also cleaning day for the church building.  Since there would be no weekly activities, I was able to get the cleaning done early in the week which always feels good!

Monday evening...helping Sierra with her division.  Sometimes math is more fun on the chalkboard than homework papers.  LOL!

Tuesday, I left in the morning for Winco to be able to get my Thanksgiving food and beat the storm coming in.  My husband is really taking this calorie counting seriously so we got lots of healthy items.

I came out of Winco and there was nothing - rain or snow.  I started climbing in elevation and the Sierras were totally cloud covered - something was definitely happening in the mountains!

And then, it started to rain...

The closer I got to home and 5,000 feet in elevation, it changed to snow!

I dropped my groceries off at home, picked up the girls and took them to piano lessons and then worked at the church on the bulletins and visitor packets.  Yes, I had a helper!

My unhealthy snack!  LOL!  Only $.67 at Winco!

I came out of the church office about an hour later and bam!  All the snow started sticking!  Crazy Nevada weather.  Remember yesterday was 60 degrees?

After piano lessons, we enjoyed being at home watching the snow fall, candles lit, fireplace on, thin mints and hot cocoa. :)

A mix of fall and winter in this photo. :)

Even though the weather was horrible and the roads just insane, the hubby and I went out for our date!  Sometimes it is just worth getting out!  I picked one of our favorite places - Opa! for a lamb gyro and rosemary steak fries.  This is such a nice little place where the owner is also the chef.  If you are in Reno, try it!

It was good to get home - glad again for our AWD!

Wednesday was school - we finished up all quizzes and tests for the school week - graded and entered them in the grade books.  Cleaned up the school room and set it up for Sunday.  Then we were off!  Home - I did laundry, cleaning, and prepped for Thanksgiving dinner.

The husband prepped his turkey for the smoker.

For dinner, I tried a new sandwich for my husband - a salmon BLT.  Toast with olive oil mayo, spinach, tomatoes, turkey bacon and a salmon filet.  Very filling!  I enjoyed it.

I also tried another cream low calorie pie recipe.  I made a key lime and a strawberry pie for our Thanksgiving meal.

Thanksgiving morning I was up early finishing up things for the meal and such.

My husband's turkey turned out wonderful as always!

We headed off to the Ruby house for Thanksgiving dinner.  There was so much delicious food and we had a wonderful time.

Friday, I decided to tackle the garage while we had a day at home and no school.  My husband worked at Sportsmans from 5:30-2:30.  It was quite the project and very cold barely reaching 30 degrees for the day.  But we finished!  Two runs to the dump as well.  The only mishap was the grill.

When my husband got home, we did the dump run and then a run to WalMart.  I couldn't pass up these scents!

And we had to get a food scale.  Good gravy.  I told you this calorie counting has reached the insane point.  LOL!

When finally home and finished with all our work, we started our tree decorating.  Of course, we had egg nog (what in the world - $5 for a half gallon!!), cookies and Thanksgiving leftovers.

A little Elf for holiday cheer!

Belle always finds her place with someone in a bunch of blankets!

Then it was my turn for my favorite movie. :)  And the fireplace, of course!

So. Cold.  Brrr!!!

Saturday was a busy day out.  My husband worked 8-4 at Sportsmans.  The girls and I returned a doll house someone lent us, did several church visits, tire rotation at Les Schwaab, lunch at BK, Goodwill shopping, Wal-Mart run, stop at Kohl's to pick up a Black Friday online deal item.  It took nearly the day.

When we got home, I made a Bean and Pasta soup - another low calorie option for my husband.

I paired it with cranberry turkey sandwiches - mmm!  Cranberry sauce, olive oil mayo, turkey and spinach leaves.

Sunday was a busy day with choir practice, Kid City teacher meeting, sing in service, monitor Kid City, children's play practice, lunch with Crocketts, play practice at 2pm, Awana meeting, work in the nursery and another children's play practice.  Then home for computer work and Andy Griffith.  Hope you had a good week!

Five Things I am Loving This Week

As autumn seems to be nearing an end for 2015...these are five things this week I am loving...

Monday was one last warm day of 60 degrees to enjoy before snow and cold hit again.  Love these days when you can!

A clean building - a job well done.  Clean spaces give me a peaceful soul. :)  Love!

Our daughters do the Job Chore Chart online and it keeps track of points they have earned for doing their chores.  For example, emptying the dishwasher is 5 points.  When they reach a certain amount of points, they can choose from different rewards.  One reward is 1,400 points is $5.  Addie worked and saved 5,600 points and asked if she could order a new Bible on Amazon with her $20 reward.
It took her a long time to earn that and it was awesome to see her spend it on a new Bible.  Love!

Snow falling outside...fall tablecloth...burning candle.  Love!

Lamb gyro and rosemary homemade steak fries.  Love!!!

My Week

Some weeks, you're not sure how you keep your head screwed on straight.  That was this week. :)
Monday was babysitting and school.  I also had a photo job as well.  I am always grateful for my photo jobs.  Just one small way the Lord blesses me personally. :)

Always good to start off with a favorite snack - Combos!  LOL!

No, Baby Aaron!  She says.  Ha!!  These are two kiddos I babysit.

This is what I do for photo jobs - take pictures of new construction for inspection companies that need them for lenders.

My husband was in Los Angeles on a speaking engagment Monday-Wednesday morning.  Monday evening, we had a fellowship at Qdoba with the ladies of the church.  It is nice to get together and get out. :)

Tuesday was babysitting and school.  Someone didn't feel well.  She fell asleep doing her videos.

We had piano lessons at 1-2:30pm and then we went shopping for items for our family photos.  I was reminded why I don't like shopping!  LOL!
While out, we dropped a meal off at the McCoy's.  Maria was still in the hospital.

Work was started on expanding the media room so it would enable two men in there during services which is a big help.

Josh did a great deal of the project.  It turned out great!

Wednesday was babysitting, school, Awana training meeting and Youth Group.

Thursday was an early start with recording podcasts at 7:30am.  Then babysitting, school and another photo job.  I also went tanning, Wal-Mart, Kohl's.
Then back to the church for a meeting at noon.  Some work at home and then choir practice for the Christmas program at 6:45pm.  Then a quick shower and off to work for my 9-9 shift.

Friday, I got off at 9.  I spent the day cleaning the church and finishing up some to do's at the church.  I tried for a nap in the afternoon before work but it wasn't as successful as I hoped.  Ha!
Then it was off for my 9-9 Friday shift.

Saturday, got off at 9 and went for Community Outreach at 10am.  From there, I had a hair and makeup appt. for our photos at 12 and 1pm.  Then family photos at 4pm downtown with Shannon.

After photos (I hope they turned out ok!), we had a bite at Steak and Shake and then I was off to the church to help Jenny with the centerpieces.  Then to Wal-Mart to get my chili ingredients and the other things I was bringing to the dinner.  This was me in line on Saturday night.  The happy face was a pharse.  :)

Sunday was a super busy day!  After getting ready, I stopped at Wal-Mart for beans (that I forgot the night before!!).  At the church, made the coffee, Praise and Worship practice, choir practice, Kid City teacher meeting, sing for the service, back to Kid City for monitering and kids' play practice.  Set up for the chili dinner (seen below!).  Quickly home for a short lunch and then right back for our second play practice for the adult play.  Then finish prep for the meal - cutting pies, organizing the tables, etc.  Our Thanksgiving chili dinner and service started at 5pm.  It was a very blessed time together.

One mishap was me spilling hot coffee on my arm today.  I am sure I looked weird with a wet towel around my arm singing!  LOL!

Thank you to every person that did anything to help out this day. :)
