Goodbye June!

Goodbye, June!  This was quite the month of transition.  Our first full month of living in Florida.  Unpacking into a new home.  Adjustment to a new area.  Many details of closing out things in old states/homes and setting up things for a new home.  It had joy yet some anxiety.

God is always good and saw us through so many details.  Even though our life changed much, He never changed!  He is our rock and stay.

It was a month to remember.  Goodbye June 2023!

Cross Country: May 25, 2023

Photos across America on our way from Oregon to Florida.

States traveled:  Oregon...California...Nevada...Utah.

While we traveling cross country, our new home closed in Jacksonville.  Third home to close in May.  What a crazy ride!  Thank you, God, for all You have done.

May 23rd & Cross Country: May 24th, 2023

Tuesday, May 23rd, we were still in Newberg.  We were having some work done on my SUV before the road trip and it wasn't done in time to leave Tuesday as planned.  We had one last dinner together and then had root beer floats.

Packing the cars that night to leave in the morning.  When you get to the end, you always have more than you can fit in.  Sigh.

Last sunset in Oregon.  It didn't disappoint.

Last sunrise in Oregon.

Autumn and I traveled with Max and Captain Jack in my SUV.  Max needed the entire middle seat to lie down for the trip so that took up a lot of room.  Cappie was super nervous and unsettled for the first hour.  He then found this little spot and settled in for the trip.  For not being used to riding in a vehicle and going cross country for days, he was an absolute angel.

Max did well too.  He's 14.  Moving to his new home.

Sierra got in her hours for driving with Eric.

I will miss mountain views.

We headed to Reno.  Addie was there visiting her boyfriend and his family and we would be stopping to get her and say goodbye to Papa Vern and Eric's brother, Neil.
Klamath Falls is the halfway point between Newberg and Reno.  We always have lunch there at the gas station where there is a Subway.  It would be maybe the last time, at least for a long time, that I would travel this route.  Through the last 2 1/2 years, I traveled it many times and that brings back many memories.

I took this photo for my memories.  This is the bathroom stall where my father-in-law passed away in my arms.  This memory is burned in my mind forever.  Every time I am here, I stop and remember Dad.

Storm clouds in the west are so cool.

Our Oregon home closed on Tuesday, May 23rd at 5pm.
We first went to Cameron and Krista Gulden's home.  (Addie's boyfriend and parents)  We are good friends with their family and enjoyed visiting for a minute.

We met Papa Vern for a late dinner when we got to Reno.

Papa Vern and his girls.  He has been part of their life since Addie was one month old.  God surely blessed our family to give us a man like Papa.

And Max loves Papa too.

We visited Eric's brother and our niece and nephew and then crashed for the night.
