Visiting My Home Church

On Sunday, September 20, the girls and I attended church at my parent's church in Grover Hill, OH.  Here are a few pictures from that day. :)

Where I attended church while I was college age and on until I was married.  Bible Baptist Church in Grover Hill, OH.

This was the last building church wise that I served the Lord in my young adult years.  Many memories of teaching children in Sunday School, working in the nursery, singing specials, bringing kids to church on the church van.

A last photo of the girls with their grandparents there in Grover Hill.

This was not church time but I love this picture.  Seeing Summer sing with Nana in the afternoon before we left for home. :)  My mom's heart has always been in music singing for the Lord.  She is so very talented but has always used those talents to glorify her Savior.

One last photo of the old country church auditorium.  Many memories in a single picture.

After the morning service, we had lunch in the church basement with our family - Uncle Gary and Aunt Connie, Aunt Sandy and my cousin, Larry (not pictured).  What a fun time of talking and laughter we had!

My dad preaching.  My dad has been such a faithful rock in my life.  He remains faithful to His Savior.  I am so grateful for my godly heritage.  God has been so very good to give me the family members that I have.

Summer's 10th Birthday

Summer's birthday was September 16.  Here are a few photos from that day. :)

The weather man said the hazy skies are from the wildfires out west that have made it to our area.

Our TV is packed so we had to improvise and watch a movie on the laptop.

Summer received a mini makeover from her sister, Autumn.  Hair, nails, facial and makeup.

She also worked on new bead creations - a gift from Autumn.

We did blue, white and cloud theme. :)

She also had a birthday date with me at Bob Evans for breakfast. Happy 10th birthday, Summer!

Happy Birthday, Autumn Joy!

Happy Birthday to our Autumn Joy today!  She is 15 now.  I'm so proud of what she has accomplished in the last year.  It definitely wasn't easy at all.  Moving to a new state, adapting to a new church and youth group, starting her first job.  She has grown so much and I'm so proud of her.

And this year of life will hold more new chapters.  But I know Autumn will handle it with grace, maturity and kindness.  She is a blessing to me.

For Your Heavenly Father Knoweth...

Well, I have been informed by my aunt that I haven't posted anything since July 3rd (she keeps pretty good tabs on that!) and I was encouraged by my sister to journal or document my journey...but blogging had become too vulnerable for me.  But that is why I began blogging years ago - to make myself become more open and vulnerable so to come back to it at a very vulnerable time of my life makes sense in a crazy sort of way.

Monday, I received a call from my husband that the sellers of the home that we were in contract for - backed out.  A week and one day before our closing date of the 28th.  Man, does that kill your faith.  But I know that God is my Father and He will take care of our family.

It is like what happened Sunday.  The girls and I had gone to my parents' church in Grover Hill to attend their Sunday morning service and visit with family.  My dad had invited my Aunt Connie and Uncle Gary, my Aunt Sandy and my cousin, Larry for lunch.

As we sat laughing and talking in the church basement over lasagna and garlic bread, Uncle Gary came over to me and pressed something into the palm of my hand.  I looked at him and he said, "Use that for gas money for your trip."

The next day, I was Face Timing my sister while I did the dishes and I was telling her about it.  I started bawling explaining that it just wasn't a money gift to me.  It was so much more.  It was an uncle that saw his niece on her own, ready to cross the country with four girls and a dog...wanting to take care of her.  It made me feel so treasured and taken care of.  Even as I type this story, tears are streaming down my cheeks - that's my uncle.

It doesn't matter how old a girl gets, she still needs her dad and maybe like this, her uncle, to let her know that we got you taken care of.

So back to the call.  I know God has it taken care of.  He knew this would happen.  He's there to take care of His daughter.  I pray that whatever situation you are in today, that you will be able to feel the love of your Heavenly Father.

"For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things."  Matthew 6:32
