Harvest Party 2018

On Saturday, October 20th, we had our church Harvest Party at Cold Springs Park.  It was probably one of the nicest days that we ever had for a Harvest Party weather wise!  Just perfect!  I really liked the different venue that we had as well.  Lots of sunshine and open field to play games, a playground, a pavilion with tables and places to set up our tables, bathrooms - it was a great location.
This is Grant - he is our worship pastor's son and he went with me on the hayride. :)

We had a good turnout for the event - of course, we want everyone to come and enjoy the fellowship with our church family!

For our Harvest Party, we do pots of chili with cheese, sour cream, onion and tortilla chips.  Cookies, coffee and hot cocoa for dessert.  Yum!

For the kids and teens, we do a pumpkin decorating or carving contest.

Some of the church members had fun games for the kids to play too.

Everyone brought candy and after our costume judging contest for those 11 yrs and younger, they went to every person to trick or treat for candy.

Larry brought two pinatas for the kids - they had a blast with those!

We did a hayride for the teens and then a hayride for the kids.

Wonderful afternoon with our church family!

Roof Project - Part 2

Third day of our roof project.  Progress!

Hot air balloon floating by while we were working. :)

And we have a new roof finally on!

View from our roof - Peavine Mountain.

Our second dump truck full!  Glad to get that gone.

I don't know what we would have done without the use of this truck.  It literally made this project 1,000 times easier.  I can't even say what a blessing it was!

Pictures of the completed roof!!

It's hard to see from down below but yay!  We are so grateful for all who helped us with this project.  We started Thursday evening after we got off work and was totally finished mid week the next week.  Just at $3,000 which included all the materials, things like pizza to feed people, money gifts to a few who really gave their time...all cash and no debt to have this done.  Hooray!  And it was totally a husband/wife/family team project and that was super cool.  It was a great memory of working together!
