My Week

Some weeks, you're not sure how you keep your head screwed on straight.  That was this week. :)
Monday was babysitting and school.  I also had a photo job as well.  I am always grateful for my photo jobs.  Just one small way the Lord blesses me personally. :)

Always good to start off with a favorite snack - Combos!  LOL!

No, Baby Aaron!  She says.  Ha!!  These are two kiddos I babysit.

This is what I do for photo jobs - take pictures of new construction for inspection companies that need them for lenders.

My husband was in Los Angeles on a speaking engagment Monday-Wednesday morning.  Monday evening, we had a fellowship at Qdoba with the ladies of the church.  It is nice to get together and get out. :)

Tuesday was babysitting and school.  Someone didn't feel well.  She fell asleep doing her videos.

We had piano lessons at 1-2:30pm and then we went shopping for items for our family photos.  I was reminded why I don't like shopping!  LOL!
While out, we dropped a meal off at the McCoy's.  Maria was still in the hospital.

Work was started on expanding the media room so it would enable two men in there during services which is a big help.

Josh did a great deal of the project.  It turned out great!

Wednesday was babysitting, school, Awana training meeting and Youth Group.

Thursday was an early start with recording podcasts at 7:30am.  Then babysitting, school and another photo job.  I also went tanning, Wal-Mart, Kohl's.
Then back to the church for a meeting at noon.  Some work at home and then choir practice for the Christmas program at 6:45pm.  Then a quick shower and off to work for my 9-9 shift.

Friday, I got off at 9.  I spent the day cleaning the church and finishing up some to do's at the church.  I tried for a nap in the afternoon before work but it wasn't as successful as I hoped.  Ha!
Then it was off for my 9-9 Friday shift.

Saturday, got off at 9 and went for Community Outreach at 10am.  From there, I had a hair and makeup appt. for our photos at 12 and 1pm.  Then family photos at 4pm downtown with Shannon.

After photos (I hope they turned out ok!), we had a bite at Steak and Shake and then I was off to the church to help Jenny with the centerpieces.  Then to Wal-Mart to get my chili ingredients and the other things I was bringing to the dinner.  This was me in line on Saturday night.  The happy face was a pharse.  :)

Sunday was a super busy day!  After getting ready, I stopped at Wal-Mart for beans (that I forgot the night before!!).  At the church, made the coffee, Praise and Worship practice, choir practice, Kid City teacher meeting, sing for the service, back to Kid City for monitering and kids' play practice.  Set up for the chili dinner (seen below!).  Quickly home for a short lunch and then right back for our second play practice for the adult play.  Then finish prep for the meal - cutting pies, organizing the tables, etc.  Our Thanksgiving chili dinner and service started at 5pm.  It was a very blessed time together.

One mishap was me spilling hot coffee on my arm today.  I am sure I looked weird with a wet towel around my arm singing!  LOL!

Thank you to every person that did anything to help out this day. :)

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
