Fri-Yay!

Friday, October 11

All day yesterday, I kept thinking it was Friday.  Well, we are finally to the actual Friday!  After two days of working from home, Eric will go into the office to work today.

Jackson came over to sit on my lap which is RARE.  I enjoyed it!

We are on Day 42 of the school year.  Monday is the last day of the first nine weeks so we will be doing some nine-weeks tests today and even Sunday so we can stay on track for the year.

This morning, it is down to 59 degrees!  First time since spring that it has dropped below 60 degrees and I am ok with that!  It should be a high of 77 today with sunshine.  So nice after the heat and humidity and a HURRICANE!  Welcome, fall!

Does anyone else love sunshine streaming in the windows?

The weather was SO amazing today!  High of 76, nice breeze, abundant sunshine.  We had all the windows open with fresh air and beautiful sunshine coming in ALL day.  It was just what I needed for a reset after the rain, heat, humidity and hurricane!  What is great about Florida is this doesn't just last for a couple weeks.  We have a whole fall, winter and spring to enjoy this!

The girls and I had a very nice day working on school and around the house.  I did a long workout video 45 minutes.  That really worked my muscles and got me sweating.  Did the dishes, swept, and things like that.  Summer did her school day and she also took her Bible content exam, World Geography exam, Grammar and Literature exams for English.  Sierra did her school day and then worked on her Monologue for Speech and her essay on Macbeth.  She also completed her

I made parmesan chicken and baked potatoes for dinner and then took Summer for her horse riding lesson at 5:30pm.

While we were gone, Sierra texted that Nugget had brought in a snake into the house!  LOL!  Just a little one but here it is. :)

When we got home, Summer made Cherry Jubilee and we enjoyed it warm with some vanilla bean ice cream. (The recipe is for a slow cooker but we did it in the oven.)

At the stable - doing Summer's riding lesson.

Saturday, October 12

Another nice, cool morning!  We slept for the first time since spring with the windows open all night.  We have turned the corner into fall!

The girls had a soccer game at 10:10am this morning.

Then they went to Conner's A-Maizing Acres with the youth group for a youth activity from 3-8pm.  How fun!

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
