Tune in any time of the day to Faith Music Radio for uplifting Christian music and talk.

Here is today's podcast in blog post form. :)

My five-year old, Summer, has a new thing that she likes to do with her dad.  She will come to me during the day and ask to call her dad who works at the church.  I will ask her “Why do you want to call Daddy?”  She will reply, “I want to ask him how many minutes.”  I ask, “How many minutes for what?”  She will firmly reply, “How many minutes until he comes home!”

So the other day, my husband had literally just left the house.  We only live a mile from the church and she asks, “Can I call Daddy?”  “Why?”  “I want to ask him how many minutes!”

I was chuckling inside as she called her dad.  I wanted to see what my husband would say to her!  She gets off the phone and I ask, “What did Daddy say?”  She says, “He said it would be all day – like 8 hours!”  I just laughed cause even though it was 8 hours…she had her answer of in how many minutes – Daddy would be coming home.

And you know my husband just loves it!  Who wouldn’t love their child calling them letting them know they want to see them…to talk to them…to hug them?

I bet God feels the same way about us!  If you have accepted the Lord as your Savior, you are God’s child!  When is the last time you “called” Him during the day – maybe you are at work, doing the dishes, taking the kids to piano lessons, grocery shopping – and you looked up to Heaven and said, “How many minutes, Lord?  I can’t wait until our devotion time together!”

And God smiles down and says, “I’ll be here anytime.  I love you, child.”

I love that about my Heavenly Father.  So the challenge today is – Don’t forget God in the midst of your busy week.  Take time to look up and say, “How many minutes, Dad?”

Will you take the challenge?

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
