Third Quarter is Ending!

What a week.  We started off with a very rainy Monday!  Heavy rain most of the day - over an inch.  My yard was quite wet and sloppy.  I enjoyed though having a productive day of cleaning my house, doing laundry, and working on school.  This was our week for our nine-weeks tests so it is a heavy week of getting all done for the nine weeks and finishing up grades.

Fig - she is so funny.  Here she is sleeping in Max's kennel on his bed!  He would not have liked that if he would have let her know.  Ha!

We got so soaked going on our Monday morning walk!  He was wet even hours later!

Watching my kiddo sing in the choir.

Sunday, we had visited a friend's church - Grandview Baptist Church in Beaverton.  On Tuesday, they delivered to our door a gift of cinnamon rolls and a thank you for visiting.  I love to see a church having a process for assimilation for visitors!  It is vital and this speaks to their process.

A new napping place for Fig!  Cats are so funny.

Monday evening, we had dinner with the pastor and his wife.
Tuesday, I went to Happy Valley to have my chiropractor appt. and to go grocery shopping.
Wednesday evening, church was just the annual business meeting which I attended.  Eric was scheduled to meet with the pastor but the pastor changed his mind so it was canceled.
Thursday was a heavy day of nine weeks exams and finishing school work for the week.
Friday is my day I work at the school.

The gas prices here in Oregon keep rising.  This is from Friday, March 4 and it is the lowest price we have.  The highest in our town right now is $4.59 a gallon.  Our president has failed Americans with his policy decisions into moving us away from being energy independent.

Soup on a chilly, rainy March day hits the spot!

My sweet Fig. :)

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
