Camp Northwest-Friday

Friday morning, our cabin had breakfast clean-up.  Making sure the trash and dishes are taken care of.  The tables are cleaned.  Floors are swept.

Cinnamon rolls for breakfast. :)

The girls decided to turn their clean-up turn into a competition.  When someone would walk up to throw their trash away, they would compete to see which can they threw it into and then cheer if it was theirs.
Let's just say, we were definitely the most spirited cabin to do this.  LOL!

After breakfast was Morning Rally.  This was our speaker for the week - Bro. Brent.

Lanyard for the week.

After Morning Rally and God and I Time (devotions), there was the combined main activity.  A game called Timber Rights.

You earn points for decor in and outside of your cabin.  So we added some decoration to the outside Friday morning.

After lunch and Flat on Back (required rest time for juniors), the girls had swim time from 1:15-3pm.  They can kayak, swim in the lake or go on the water slide.
We decided to do the water slide.

1:30-3pm the craft shop was open so I went with Summer and she made a craft - a flower pen.

Then we went to the Snack Shop which was open from 2-4pm.

Between 3:30-5pm, they had a combined water slide that both the boys and the girls could use at the same time.

At 2:30pm, they had the Girls Championship Wall Ball Game which Lexi participated in for our team.

5pm:  Camper Choir
5:15pm:  Counselor Meeting
5:40pm:  Flag Lowering
5:45pm:  Dinner
7pm:  Evening Rally

After the Evening Rally, we had cabin testimonies where the girls could personally share something that impacted them this week.
9pm:  Ice cream
9:30pm:  Awards and Team Winner Camp Video

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
