Hike 2018 - Tahoe Meadows

Every summer, we get to do many weddings in the Tahoe region and around.  Eric is a wedding officiant on the side.  After one of the weddings we did, we stopped to do a hike in Tahoe Meadows.  The weather looked threatening at the time and while on the trail, we actually got a flash flood warning come across our phones.  So, we weren't sure what was going to happen!

The meadow is always beautiful in the spring and summer.  It is so green from all the snow melt it receives.

Dark skies above.

I was hoping to see deer but no luck on that.

We did the hike which was 3.1 miles round trip and then left for home.
Not a drop of rain.

We head toward the summit which is very close and we notice the roads are wet.  We said how it must have rained and how cool it was we didn't get rained on hiking.
Then I'm looking to the side of the road and I'm like, Is that snow???
So I made him pull over (ha!) and got out and it was hail!  It looked like snow had fallen from the road.

We get further down the mountain and we stopped to use the restrooms in a park in Galena and we found this!  Here was the flash flooding that we got the warning for.

The water was just rushing down the hill.
Just another crazy day in Nevada!
