My Week During Teen Camp

"Torturing" Miss Fig.  LOL!

Getting ready for teen camp coming up!

Enjoyed this audiobook series by Lori Wick.

Monday, Autumn and Sierra left for teen camp.  I thought it would be fun to treat Addie and Summer to lunch at the Chick-Fil-A truck.

Definitely my favorite fast food restaurant!

My beautiful Fig. :)

While the girls were gone at teen camp, the temperatures moderated and I was able to do some work in the carport decluttering and organizing.  I ordered these vacuum seal bags to store all the girls' stuffed animals which they do not want to give up.

One evening, we even had some cloudy skies which made for a neat sunset.  No rain though.

Another audiobook in the Big Sky Dreams series is completed!

I love kitten bellies!

We took care of my nephew, Jack, Wednesday through Sunday, while Adam and Rachel were counselors at teen camp.

We went to the free lunches at the library and went bowling.

Games and taking Max on his walk.

This is what stuffed animals look like when vacuumed bagged.  Ha!

On Thursday morning, we drove to Portland to get a cat shelter for our feral cat that we feed.  This is the office of the Feral Cat Coalition.

Then some swimming time. :)

Speaking of...here's Brownie.  He is our feral cat that hangs around our place.

Some video game time and then family movie night - Family Camp.  A great clean Christian movie for the family.

A good week with the two youngest while the rest were gone at camp. :)

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
