Doggie Surgery

On April 24th, we went to see my nephew compete in a track meet in Beaverton.

More of my flowers blooming.  They make my front yard so pretty!

Someone decided to nap in Eric's suitcase as he packed for his next trip.

On the 25th, I took Max in for a vet appt.  He had one of his ears swollen and some skin issues.  They gave him some "chill protocol" to keep him calm since he doesn't like to be touched sometimes by strangers.

They put a blanket on him and he was actually snoring in the office.  :)

He stayed sleeping for a couple more hours when we got home.

Jackson was still sleeping in the suitcase when we got back.  Ha!

Autumn found a great deal at Goodwill - white Converse in her size!  What a deal!

She found this neat picture and frame.  If you look closely, you can see Jesus Saves on the building.

She also found this record of Andy Griffith singing hymns.

Jackson keeping watch for us. :)

Blooms finally coming out - so pretty!

The next day, April 26th, Max had a small procedure/surgery on his ear.  Through some kind of trauma, probably scratching, he had the blood vessel break and his ear filled with blood.  It was called aural hematoma procedure.

He is on meds and has to wear a cone for 10-12 days until it heals and his sutures are removed.

Through this unsure time, these Scriptures so helped my soul.  And thinking of a young man in my sister and brother-in-law's class at church whose cancer has returned.
God will fulfill His purpose for us.  And He knew every day - they were planned - before we were born.

Alien?  Nope, just my kid.

I really liked this audiobook!  I want to check out more in this series.

Sometimes you just want to listen to a familiar story - relistening to the Little House series.

Last time to vote in Oregon!

The cool spot for a nap for the kitty when it is warm.

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
