My Week: August 21-27

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  I hope you enjoy reading about my week.

Sunday - the breaking of a brand new week.  It didn't start so well.  I got a text Saturday night from another lady in the church that one of their kids had lice.  In the morning, I checked the girls and found lice on one.  I kept them all home just to be on the safe side.  I washed all five (including mine!) heads of hair with the shampoo just in case.  And then it was a whole lot of laundry - clothes, bedding, pillows.  An all day project for sure.
Summer had made this list and put it by my bed for Sunday morning.  She loves doing a salon but it just wasn't going to happen that day. :(

I spent part of the afternoon at the laundry mat.  Wow, it has been a long time since I have been to one of those!  It was kind of nice though.  Considering.  LOL!  Why share about lice?  It's not nice and it is embarrassing.  But it is life.  We are all living it. :)

Sunday night, off to work.  I thoroughly enjoyed the sky!

Rainbows. :)

It didn't rain at our house Sunday night but it poured at my client's home.  I. LOVED. IT!!
There is nothing nicer than a summer thunderstorm.  Nothing!

Monday, what a super nice day.  Another stormy day.  And I loved it!  I got a lot accomplished and the weather was just perfect.  School.  Everyone was in a good mood due to the rain. :)

Summer is really working hard on her papers in first grade.

Chicken, baked potato and zucchini for dinner.  Mmm!

I love having a productive day and having things prepared for the morning!  Preparation really is a key to success.

And get ready for the game that evening.

Before the game, our neighbors brought over pizza for us.  So sweet!

Really nice night out.  We love our local ball park!

Ending with fireworks and the kids getting to run the bases. :)

Saturday morning.

Softball scrimmage 10:30-12:30.

Made out my menu and grocery list during the scrimmage.  Love multi-tasking!
Then dropped the girls off at home after the scrimmage and went to Winco for groceries.

Housework, laundry and ironing.
Register our new car online.
Make car payment.
Do a balance transfer.
Prepare items for church.

Made a new recipe for dinner.  Yummy ingredients.

This is the filling for the tostado - garbanzo beans, red pepper, onions, garlic, lime juice, cilantro, cumin...

You put down the bean mixture and top with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, green salsa and avocado.  Tasty!

After dinner, haircut for the hubby.  Water the garden.  Showers for the girls.  All the work is never done.  LOL!

I am very much looking forward to cooler temps!  I hope you had a great week too!

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
