Fun Memories


Wednesday, while Eric and Addie were at College Days, we had a beautiful sunrise. 



Boy was it cold though!


I loved seeing Addie on the Sparks Chick-Fil-A Facebook page!


Summer got to sleep with me while Dad was away. :)


Thursday night, we watched Prancer.  The original.  It was made back in my childhood in the 80's but I love it. :)  Of course, a little eggnog too!


Friday was a planned day to do nothing ALL day long.  This happens...never!  Since Eric and Addie were gone, we stayed in our pajamas and watched the entire Anne of Green Gables - all three movies!  Super long but I haven't seen it in years and years and it was so much fun.  Autumn was surprised how much of it I knew. LOL!


We had pancakes and sausage for breakfast.  Taco salad for lunch.  And Papa Murphey's pizza for dinner.  Yum!


On Saturday, I took Addie to work.  Her Chick-Fil-A was having a toy drive for the kids in Paradise, CA whose homes were lost in that terrible fire.  I took a few toys in for the drive.


Tiffany, the owner, gave out a free card when you donated toys.


Of course, gotta have Christmas music playing this time of year!

The rest of the Saturday was spent doing school stuff and house stuff. :)


Even Belle helps with school. :)

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
