Caramel Corn and Foggy Mornings

My cowboy casserole - I got the recipe from my sister and I tried it and we all liked it. :)  I will be sharing the recipe soon.

Fall colors are starting to show in many places. :)

Do you like fun stamps?  I love these new Charlie Brown stamps. :)

With the cooler weather coming on, the girls and I made a shelter for our stray we call Captain Jack.  We also got a bale of straw for the shelters for them to keep warm.
If you have a feral or stray cat, you can make a simple shelter with a storage container lined with some insulation.  Cut a small opening and tape with duct tape over the sharp edges. Fill with straw - not hay!  It will keep them warm and dry.

Captain Jack taking an afternoon nap. :)  Squishing my flowers!!

Fall bucket list - getting fall drinks from Starbucks.  Pumpkin spice creme frappuccinos.

"Hey Mom.  I really want to go outside.  I know it's still dark and only 6am.  But I'm going to keep meowing until you get up and take me out."

I do love foggy mornings!

Another audiobook finished. :)

Look who finally used his shelter!

The fog brings out things that are often hidden in the sunlight.  Isn't that an interesting thought?  Life seems a little more clear on the "sunny" days but we need the foggy days too.  For they may bring clarity to other things that you just hadn't been able to see in the sunshine. :)

On Thursday, Summer and I made several batches of caramel corn.  We do it in the microwave with a paper bag like my grandma used to do. :)

Kind of odd to have strawberries growing in October!

A bag of homemade caramel corn for my girls when they come home from work.

Speaking of work, Sierra was given some fresh farm eggs while working the drive-through today.  LOL!

Then dropped off bags of caramel corn for the family as well.

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
