Recipe: Fruit Infused Water

Fruit Infused Water

*Guest post:  Mrs. Jenny Musser*

Last summer, a sweet lady I go to church with gave me this fruit infusion pitcher.  You can get them at Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and Wal-Mart for about $20.  I used it all summer long last year and I have already starting making it now!  It is so refreshing in this Nevada heat!!

It only takes a few minutes to make.  I let it sit overnight, but it depends on how strong you would like the flavors to be is how long you will let it sit. You can really use every kind of fruit, but bananas.  Also, cucumber is very tasty and refreshing!

These are a few of my favorite:
1. Lemon, Lime and Orange
2. Raspberry & Lime
3. Strawberry & Lemon
4. Mixed Berry

I haven't tried any with herbs mixed in yet so these are a few I'm looking forward to trying this summer:
1. Cucumber, Lemon & Mint
2. Strawberry, Lemon & Basil
3. Orange & Mint
4. Kiwi & Strawberry

This is a great way to stay away from sodas and fruit juices that are high in sugar.  There are so many combinations, I think the possibilities are endless!

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
