Recipe: Caramel Corn

One of the treats that my Grandma Holt would make on our Friday night sleepovers at her house was caramel corn.  It is also a wonderful fall-time treat! 

Caramel Corn

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup of dark Karo syrup

2 cups brown sugar

1 pinch cream of tartar

1 pinch of salt

1 tsp. baking soda

6 - 10 qt. of popcorn

Mix butter, Karo, sugar, cream of tartar and salt in a medium saucepan. Stir and bring to boil. Boil 5 minutes. Add soda, stir well. Pour over popcorn and stir well. Bake 1 hr. at 200 degrees.
