Goodbye May!

Goodbye to the month of May!  It was a busy month finishing up school and now planning for summer events.  Here in Oregon, it was a cool and somewhat wet month.  Summer is coming soon!

Memorial Day

Thank you to all the brave men and women who gave their lives for our country and our freedom.   We remember and honor you today.

We Miss You, Grandma McCurdy!

Grandma McCurdy went to Heaven on May 29th, 1998.   I have many good memories of days visiting my Grandma and her home there in Indiana.   We miss you, Grandma!

Our Garden 2022

Thursday, Summer and I took the time to get our garden in.  We knew it was supposed to be rainy Saturday so we decided to get it in before the long weekend.  Earlier, we had planted our flowers for the porch.  Added a chair, pillow and sign for added decor. :) We have an area in the back of our home where the previous owners had planted some bulbs and there was this huge plant.  I had not really done anything with it last year mainly because Max tromps on it and even lays in the dirt.  But not having too much room to do much elsewhere, I decided to try to use this area. It took me a while to get it all turned over and I added two bags of Miracle Grow soil to each side. We picked up some veggie plants at the store. Summer made name signs for the plants with colored popsicle sticks. I would definitely love a bigger garden and more garden beds but this was fulfilling still.

End of the Work/School Year

Sunny days are the best!  Seems I get more done and have more drive when the sun shines. :) Found this shelf on clearance at Hobby Lobby. :)  Autumn helped me decorate Tuesday while she had a day off work.  We were trying different options to see what was the best look for it. Wednesday was the kindergarten graduation for our church's Christian school.  I had three of the graduates in my Friday care. Since the cat doesn't use her bed, Max decided to use it as a pillow. :) Thursday ended up being a rainy evening.  I took Summer to softball practice and there ended up being an entire storm pop-up - downpours and even thunder and a few lightning strikes.  The girls got soaked.  Thankfully I was in a dry vehicle!  Ha! Friday was my last day for working the Friday care at the school.  Goodbye to a good school/work year! This is the room where we had Friday care.  Set up for Sunday - however. Last day of the year gift - kitchen towels with a C...

May Days

Kitty belly - so sweet! She's getting chubby, too! Good to have the oldest home.  I especially love when she plays the piano or when they play together.  Makes my heart happy! Doing some chalk art on the sidewalk. Oh Mom, you trying to make the bed?  HA! Just want to remember the gas prices.  I paid $4.99 here a gallon right before it went up to $5.05 a gallon.  IT. IS. INSANE.  The Democrats should thank Putin for helping them push their green agenda on all Americans who can't afford to live in their world.  $73 for 14 1/2 gallons. Doing a little clearance shopping at Hobby Lobby.  Fun to see Addie and Autumn talking about projects like embroidery. On nice days, the dog and cat enjoy being out in the backyard.  In fact, Fig likes it so much, that she goes to the back door and meows to go out.  Ha!  We don't trust her out by herself so she only goes out when we can sit out there. More flowers around my yard. Summer going grocery sho...

Trip to Reno: Sunday

On Sunday, we visited in the morning with Cameron and his son, Chris (Addie's boyfriend).  Then we headed off for church.  We visited a new church plant - Living Hope Church.  My husband knows the pastors that started the church and we have some friends, the Cabangons and the Smiths that attend there. They are meeting at the McKinley Arts Center in Reno. We enjoyed the service and seeing friends.  We then headed out for our drive home. Again, enjoyed the gorgeous blue skies.  Saw antelope, cattle, sheep, goats, and horses. As we neared closer home, it became cloudy again. We got home about 8:30pm Sunday evening.  It was a quick trip but a blessing to see those we love.
