In Luke 14, Jesus refers to us as salt. With this thought in mind, I have two questions for you.
Are you similar to the salt in the Dead Sea? The salt in the Dead Sea makes for a harsh environment in which animals cannot flourish. Therefore, there are no living organisms in the sea.
Does the salt in your life create the atmosphere that no one wants to be around you? Perhaps if they are around you, they become dead and lifeless in their spirit? Are you a critical and discouraging person?
Or are you the useful salt that brings the flavor of the Christian life to others? Are others encouraged and helped when they speak to you? Do you bring joy and life to their spirit?
One challenge for today:
Make someone thirsty for Christ!
If we are truly the salt of the earth, salt will make a person thirsty. Live your life so that those around you will see Christ in you and thirst for HIM.
"...If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink."
John 7:37b
