Tips to Keep Your Home Office Organized

Keeping Your Home Office Organized

*Guest Post by Mrs. Jenny Musser*

We have a room right next to the front door and when you come into our house, it's one of the first things you see.  It is our office/music room so it has a lot of "stuff" in it.  Today, I'm going to share a few ways to keep the clutter under control.

1.Mail.

As soon as I get the mail, I go through it right then.  I throw away any junk mail, open bills and put them in my organizer. I keep bills, stamps, my checkbook, a few envelopes, pens and cash that I have set aside for any purchases all in one spot.  It makes it simple to pay bills.

2. Books.

We have a bookcase but it is not big enough to hold all of our books.  So I had to find another way to store them.  You know that I love baskets and this is how I store extra books and also piano books that I use often.

3. Desk.

Our desk is small so all I have on it is the computer and a box for Josh's things.  I used to ask him every day, "Could you please go through the pile of stuff on the desk?"  I finally gave up on that because it was just frustrating both of us!  :)   So I got him a box and once it is full then I ask him to go through it.

4. Electrical Cords.

I shared this idea for the TV but thought I would share again. I found this box with a lid and handles.  It is perfect for hiding all the computer and printer cords and is big enough to put the printer on.  All the cords go through the handle in the back and are hidden!

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."  Psalm 27

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour to end.  You have 45 minutes each week to impact that little life.  Make e
