Church Administration: Activity Planning Sheet and Procedure for your Church

Church administration is a very important part of your church and its ministries.

One of the most recent things we created for our ministries was an Activity Planning Sheet.  It was becoming a necessary thing having multiple events for multiple groups.  This would be ministries like teen group, ladies ministries, the senior group of your church (Ours is JOY - Just Older Youth), childrens' ministries such as Awana, etc., Sunday School classes, Connection Groups (small groups-ours is our Wednesday evening adult classes), College and Career (ours is Turning Point).  Basically any group that wants to host an activity under the umbrella of your church.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following is what was sent to our ministry leaders regarding the planning sheet...

I am asking for you to add one item as administrators or secretaries to your ministries. Attached you will find the SVBC Activity Planning Sheet.

Using this sheet will enable the following:

1.  Pastor Eric will be aware and also approve all activities that go on in the SVBC ministries.

2.  There will be no conflicting activities between ministries and the church wide calendar.

3.  It will be one simple system that all ministries will be able to utilize and creates uniformity in our church office.

4.  It encourages accountability on your part as a leader to plan well in advance and prepare for your ministry.

You can e-mail me this form at the above e-mail address.  You may also put this form in my box at the church office.

The time guidelines Pastor would like you to follow as when to have your activities submitted to the church office:

January activities - Nov. 15
February activities - Dec. 15
March activities - Jan. 15
April activities - Feb. 15
May activities - March 15
June activities - April 15
July activities - May 15
August activities - June 15
September activities - July 15
October activities - August 15
November activities - Sept. 15
December activities - Oct. 15

Pastor realizes that there may be last minute smaller events that you may want to do. For example: Have your Sunday School class in the park. We ask that these are submitted at least 7 days in advance.  This is especially important if you are off campus.

PLEASE do not announce your activity until your activity sheet has been approved.

Thank you so much for getting on board with this new procedure!  If you have any questions, let me know.

I have included our activity planning sheet as a reference for you to use or adapt for your ministry.

Happy 45th Birthday, Eric!

Happy birthday to my husband, Eric!   He turns 45 today.  I am surprising him with tickets to a Miami Dolphins game in Miami.  I got him tickets one other time years ago when we lived in Reno.  We drove to Oakland to see the Dolphins play the Raiders.  I think this will be a great memory for him and a home game too! Happy birthday, babe!

Recipe: Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan This is a delicious recipe from Magnolia Table: Volume 2. 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts  1/4 tsp. kosher salt 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 2 large eggs 1 tsp. garlic salt 1 sleeve (30-40) buttery crackers, crushed 4 oz. Parmesan cheese, grated (about 1 cup) 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice 1/2 cup mayo 1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley (optional) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. (I cut the chicken breasts in half to make thinner.).  Season with salt and pepper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and garlic salt until combined.  In another bowl, combine the crackers and 1/2 cup of the Parmesan. Dredgs each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then in the cracker mixture, and set the chicken aside on a plate. In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of the oil over medium heat.  Add 2 pieces of the chicken and cook until the cracker coating is crispy and golden brown, 3 or 4 minutes on each side.  Remove to a sheet pan or b...
