Getting Back to the School Year 2022

Well, January 3rd, back at it for the second half of our home school - school year!  Starting on Day 86 of 170 days so we are officially halfway through!  I will say that I am SO GLAD we finished out the nine weeks BEFORE Christmas vacation so we did NOT have to come back and do major projects, papers and final exams.  This week, we have normal classes, homework and just a few quizzes here and there for the week.  I definitely want to do this every year from here on out.

My new planner came a little late - on Monday, January 4th but I am loving it so far!  Trying to utilize it fully.

This silly cat!  She climbed in my dresser drawer while I was putting the clean clothes away.  I let her stay and she took a cat nap.  LOL!

January 4th was my spiritual birthday.  I like to remember it and now I have this photo that I was able to take when we lived in Ohio.  I'm so glad!  I got the reassurance of my salvation sitting in the car outside of this little restaurant in Ohio - Vagabond Village.

Autumn gave me these photos.  This is Fig waving her paw under the door.  Ha!

Max sneaking a nap on Addie's bed.

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
