Slow Cooker Southern Green Beans
This recipe makes a tasty crockpot of green beans for any special meal!
1 cup onion, diced
5 slices bacon, diced
32-48 oz. frozen green beans
1 tbsp. plus 1/4 cup butter (5 tbsp. total)
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
In a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp. butter over medium-high heat. Add bacon and onion to the skillet and sautee until onion is tender and bacon is starting to brown.
Transfer bacon and onion to a 6 quart slow cooker. Add frozen green beans.
In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup melted butter, brown sugar, garlic salt, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over green beans.
Toss to coat the green bean mixture with the sauce.
Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours.
