Tastet New Years Eve and New Years Day

And...another snowy morning in Oregon!  I'm telling you, this doesn't happen very often here!  This is the morning of December 31st, 2021.  2021 wants to be remembered, I guess!

Later in the day, the clouds broke and we did have some sunshine.  But some very dark clouds as well!

For New Years Eve 2021, the girls went to a teen activity by the church.  Eric and I went out for a little bit.  Got some 75% off Christmas items at Wal-Mart, dropped off my ring to be resized and went for dinner at Red Robin.  Can I just insert that Red Robin has changed up some of their burgers and they just aren't as good as they always have been.  My opinion and I probably won't be going back any time soon.

After the teen activity, Kylee came for a sleepover.  Autumn made up little things for them to do.  Nails, hot cocoa bombs and popcorn, old movies, etc.

100 count lights for $.62!  I got 20 boxes.

And boy, was it cold New Years Eve!  One of the coldest nights I remember since being in Oregon.

My new calendar for 2022.  I like it!

My devotional items - my new Bible for the year, my prayer journal, my prayer box and my Crayola twistables for highlighting.

Of course, you have to go have a little photo shoot with your cousin when you're together!

After all that snow, now we are getting rain.  A LOT of rain.  Every day, rain.

We had bacon breakfast casserole for a late breakfast and the girls watched Singing In The Rain.  Had tacos for a late lunch/early dinner.  Kylee went home at 4pm and we had a quiet New Years Day bringing in 2022.
And lastly, here are my two fur babies, Max and Fig.

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
