Here is today's podcast in blog post form. :)

"I like your flip flops.  They are like mine," said a little girl to me at the breakfast room at the Hampton on our vacation.

"You look like my grandma.  She wears those too (pointing to my skirt),"  said a little boy to me in Wal-Mart.

People notice our outside, don't they?  The clothes we wear, the hair style we have, the jewelry we choose.  My three year old always compliments my church clothes..."I love your necklace, Mommy.  Your shoes are pretty, Mommy."

More than others noticing the outer appearance, I crave for others to notice Jesus on me.  I have a pastor's wife friend in our town that glows the love of Jesus.  Her spirit and enthusiasm for God is like a burning fire - and you can't help but catch on fire too when you are near.

How do you and I become the person that when others are around...they desire not what we are but who He is?

We have a true and real relationship with Christ.  There is no other way.
We need to be filled with Him so that all that we are and all that comes out...is Jesus.

How I desire that.  How I crave that.  I hope you do too.  Seek to be filled up with Jesus...today.  And every day.

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
