This is a recipe shared by a couple in our church - Bob and Linda Hector. We have a tri-tip cookoff every Memorial Day picnic and Bro. Bob won with this marinade. I thought I would share it with you.
Meat Marinade
1 - 8 oz. jar minced garlic
3-4 tbsp. black pepper
15 scallions, cut each in 3-4 pieces
1/2 cup sesame oil
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cups soy sauce
12 thin slices fresh ginger
tri-tip roast
In a large bowl, whisk together everything except the roast. Place the meat in a jumbo baggie and pour marinade over the meat. Close baggie and refrigerate over two nights.
