January Aspire 2024

Sad but very true.

Also very true!

Tuesday, January 9 we flew out at 6am headed toward Santa Clara, CA.  We have the Aspire event for my husband's company that we will be working.

And what a flight it was!  We were supposed to change planes in Atlanta but actually had to stay in flight and head back towards Jax and then turn around and head to Atlanta until it cleared to land in Atlanta.  It felt like the longest flight ever.

These girls putting this cap on Cappie.  Ha!

Once we finally made it to Santa Clara, I got the backseat in the Uber.  LOL

We grabbed lunch at In & Out. It has been years since I had a double-double and I enjoyed it.

View from our hotel room - this is the 49's stadium.

Our hotel room - very nice!

After lunch, it was to work at the venue.

Don't be cooled - California was cold!

A few photos of setting up for the Aspire event.

Ahhh...mountains!

The stadium.

I got to work mainly by myself and listen to many podcast episodes. :)

Putting together swag bags.

Rainy and cold day in Cali.

For lunch, we hit up a great little authentic Mexican joint.

This is for the Diamond lunch which my husband does.  He does such a great job.

This is the Diamond Lounge and registration which my husband also does.

I worked set-up, Gold registration, 360 photo booth, combined registration, and sales table.

Robert Herjavec from Shark Tank speaking.

Joe Montana in a Q&A.

The event goes from 8am - 7pm.  Then it is several hours of tear-down and packing the semi.

Friday morning - on our way home!

I love views from the plane on a clear day!

Hey, sis in Phoenix!

They actually gave me the can.  Whoa.

Snow over the Midwest.
January Aspire 2024 is over. :)

You May Abound In Hope

Today I completed a devotional book by Candace Cameron Bure.  100 Days of Joy and Strength.  I was struggling last night.  Darkness seemed to overwhelm me.  The last day of this devotional gave me exactly the encouragement I needed to go another day. Here are the verses she shared from God's Word. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope."  Psalm 130:5 "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;"  II Corinthians 4:8-9 "As for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.  Do not gloat over me, my enemy!  Though I have fallen, I will rise.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."  Micah 7:7-8 "I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."...

Ten Tips for Sunday School Teachers

Ideas for Sunday School Teachers: 1.  Write a note to each student and mail it to their home. 2.  Visit the child in his home and bring a small treat. 3.  Make a special treat once a month for your students on Sunday. 4.  Have a Sunday School class activity on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. 5.  Pray for your students. 6.  Have a monthly or quarterly contest for your students.  Include bringing their Bible, saying memory verses, attendance, etc.  Award small prizes. 7.  Have a special craft once a month. 8.  Rev up your teaching time!  Use props such as costumes, pictures, videos.  Make your lesson time come alive.  Teach your lesson 2-3 times during the week out loud – you will be amazed at how you will be able to teach it to your students – not just following the words in the book. 9.  After the lesson, be creative!  Students should not just be sitting and waiting for Sunday School hour ...
